This is how KAIS Fest went
Not a school assembly, but a community celebration: families, kids, partners and the city spent the day together.
On Saturday, August 1, the KAIS campus on Toraygyrova Street opened up to the city. The yard became a summer venue with canopies, a food court and a big stage, while the classrooms turned into workshops and labs.
The stage programme started at exactly 10:00 AM: welcome speeches, a talk on education opportunities and scholarships, and appearances by the school director, actor Ilyas Kenzhasarov and international TV journalist Botagoz Marabayeva. Then came the GENOMIX science show, a karate show and a Tesla show.
Five zones ran in parallel. FabLab had 3D printers and soldering stations, the lab ran experiments, the Endeavour workshop had real sewing machines, and next door were chess, table tennis and streetball. The kids zone never stopped: bubbles, a cryo show, Slinky, face painting, a planetarium and air hockey.
In the auditorium, student teams pitched their projects to the KAIS Shark Tank jury, while universities and education programmes hosted the partner expo. And KAIS Quest ran across the whole campus — families collected stamps right up to the final prize draw at 2:25 PM.
We wanted the school to stop being an institution for one day and become a place you come to as a family. That is exactly what happened.
